A Brand-New Turbocharged Four-Cylinder Powertrain
Both the 2024 Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport will feature a brand-new turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain with direct injection, delivering 269 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. This engine replaces both the current turbocharged powertrain and the more potent VR6. The new turbo actually offers more torque than the V-6 engine in the current Atlas. This engine will also be significantly more fuel-efficient and will come standard with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive.
More Luxury and Features
The new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas gets an upgrade in terms of features and comfort technologies. The Atlas was already one of the leading midsize SUVs in its segment in terms of space and comfort, but the new Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport take it a step further.
Every model will feature premium materials including a soft-touch dashboard and center console as well as new trims. Top-of-the-line models in each lineup will feature quilted leather seats with a diamond stitch pattern. The overall experience is one of premium refinement and luxury, already one of the hallmarks of the Atlas family.
Additionally, buyers will appreciate standard ventilated front seats across the model lineup - a unique feature for the Volkswagen SUV. A heated steering wheel with shift paddles, a height-adjustable passenger seat, three-zone automatic climate controls, and a new ambient lighting system with 30 color options will also be offered. The first three features mentioned are standard.
Brand-New Peak Edition Trim
The new 2024 Atlas will feature a new Peak Edition trim line that provides a more rugged and distinctive exterior design. Peak line models include body cladding, black wheels, all-terrain tires, and signature design elements inside.
