The new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport have just made their debut at the Chicago Auto Show, boasting an impressive refresh for the model year. Both models maintain the success of their predecessors but with upgraded materials and comfort features for a more luxurious experience.

The new 2024 Volkswagen Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport models promise to deliver luxury, comfort, and style. Premium materials trimmed with leatherette soft-touch material add a touch of elegance for drivers to experience. Second-row diamond-quilted leather seats are available in top-of-the-range models for those looking for some extra indulgence. The interior also features an ambient lighting system with 30 colour choices as well as innovative backlit dash décor featuring the model name.
For enhanced comfort, the 2024 VW Atlas and 2024 VW Atlas Cross Sport feature a standard heated steering wheel, shift paddles, ventilated front seats, a height-adjustable passenger seat, Climatronic automatic climate control and Voice Control. There is also a floating center console with a large storage cubby underneath.
New VW Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport Introduce Sleek Design for 2024
On both vehicles, a wide four-bar chrome grille is framed by LED headlights with the Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS) now standard, giving the 2024 Volkswagen Atlas a distinct look. For an added touch of elegance, DRLs wrap around the headlights on all but base trims and come with an illuminated lightbar, showcasing a VW logo - giving both midsize SUVs a premium look from any angle. The front fascia features integrated air intakes and the rear has been further customized with a larger spoiler, illuminated lightbar with the VW logo placed between LED taillights. Additionally, the Atlas Cross Sport includes unique gloss-black grille details along with glossy X design elements that stretch across its lower fascia, similar to the VW Taos. Last but not least, both models feature an aggressive rear diffuser to make them stand out even more.
The wheels are redesigned and range from 18 inches to 20 inches. Machined alloy and black finishes can be found on all trim levels while R-line trims come equipped with a gloss-black grille, 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and signature R-line badging.
2024 VW Atlas Lineup Offers Fuel-Efficient and Power-Packed Performance
Another significant change made to the 2024 VW Atlas can be found under the hood. Equipped with a new turbocharged four-cylinder TSI engine, the new Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport deliver 269 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. In other words, they offer similar power to the previous VR6 model while offering improved fuel economy and a smoother overall experience. In addition, drivers benefit from an eight-speed automatic transmission, 4MOTION all-wheel drive system, and an incredible 5,000 pounds of towing capacity. This new engine is a significant step forward for the Atlas, combining the performance of the previous 3.6-litre V6 with the smoothness, refinement, and efficiency of the 2.0-litre turbo offered in past Atlas models.
