And that's nothing. If you want more, you can turn to the GLI version, which is a real bargain on the market if you're looking for a sporty, high-performance sedan that offers excellent value.


Reliability


15 or 30 years ago, Volkswagen models were known to be more temperamental than some of their direct rivals. Those days are over. The Jetta, for example, ranks high on all the charts that measure the durability and reliability of vehicles on the market today.


As a result, not only do you get a gem of a car with the Jetta, but you also get a model that will be inexpensive to maintain.


Fuel economy


Finally, one of the most surprising things about the Jetta is its efficiency at the pump. While we expect averages of around 7 L/100 km, which would be respectable, it's more like 6 L/100 km, especially if you use the highway more than the city. On the highway, the announced average is 5.7 L/100 km. In reality, if you respect the advertised limits, you'll get close to 5.0 L/100 km.


This is astounding.


There's a lot of talk about hybrid and electric vehicles as a way to reduce expenses, but these are more expensive and not accessible to everyone. The Jetta is a great choice if you're on a tighter budget but still want to save money at the pump.


And compare prices; it's much cheaper than some popular rivals.
